The Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten
Quick Review
If you're looking for a band that has raw emotion, real song lyrics, mixed with a southern country sound this is a great band for you. This is the Gaslight Anthems fourth studio album and it does not disappoint. The first track off the album "45" is their most popular track off it, with a catchy chorus and guitar riffs. It really sets off the rest of the album. Following that song you hear the title track "Handwritten" which continues to show their unique sound of old yet its new. The only problem I have with it is the last two songs "National Anthem" and "Teenage Rebellion" they are just simply too slow and soft for my taste. But lyrically and musically they are great songs that tell quite an interesting story. All in all I recommend this album, you can jam to the songs loudly without people looking at you funny and play it the car with a date without scaring her or him off.
- First impression: Produced well, each song has its own sound and emotion. I like it.
- Favorite song: Keepsake
- Out of 10: 8.5/10
